Yong Heng help/advice

A few days ago I drained, flushed & refilled my YH compressor with Royal Purple. I just topped off a 30 minute SCBA & a small paintball tank (for my backpack). The oil is black again after only 15 minutes runtime. Should I drain, flush & refill again? Oil showed purple for about 45 minutes runtime on my initial fill when I first got the YH but turned pretty quickly this time around. Any thoughts/advice?

I been thinking about adding a needle bearing set up on my crank end. I think thats where the aluminum dust comes from, since its aluminum onto metal and what the amount of pressure on top of the secondary piston I would think large amounts of wear will happen.

might be simpler to just replace the entire piston assembly every so often since you still have high pressure rings anyways as they wear.

the entire piston assembly with con rod and rings is less than $30

The Royal Purple that I use is a dark purple from the start. I measure out 12 ounces in a clear pyrex measuring cup before putting it in. Looking in that little sight window and determining that it's dirty would take a lot better eyes than mine. Keep track of your hours instead. And yeah, I love to tinker with this stuff but I wouldn't spend too much time trying to re-engineer something as cheap to get parts for as the YH.
