My Y/H wasn't building more than 3000psi. Very worn piston. Replaced piston , complete clean out and oil change. Good as new ( so far ) thanks to everyone for all the help. Thanks especially to Scotty1 !!!!!!
I know many on here have had good luck with the YH compressors. The one I had worked fine for a while and actually got little use from it. Would not fill past about 3300psi at some point. Ended up giving it to a bud and getting an omega.
I had good luck with my Y/H. Every 3 - 4 hours I take the top or HP piston and clean it. You don't need to take the low pressure out. just make sure you don't over tight the fittings. They are easy to strip and personally done it. I switched the high pressure pipe to Swagelok 1/4 SS tube and it is much better. The fitting are pricy and glad it was funded by work.
I use mine to fill a 80 cubic feet scuba tank and 45 minutes SCBA tank. I find that running it 20 minutes at a time is best. The piston is not as black.
I like using the tank because you can fill a gun in 30 seconds.
