Well, I just ordered a Yong Heng compressor from Walmart with the four year warranty. Any suggestions as to a better water pump, oil changes, filters to keep water and oil out of the gun. Or anything else.

I’ll answer ya , we all have questions, the water pump that it comes with works fine, mines been working perfectly for over two years, as far as oil goes I use oil from local Napa auto store $10 a quart , some people say use royal purple but again I never have , I just keep it clean, I will post a pic of the bottle for ya shortly. Like I said mine still runs and performs like it did the first day.

oh lets discuss it lol ... the waterpump it comes with is fine, initial oil change after several uses is the main concern, the plug filter it comes with will remove any oil, and you need one of those foot long aluminum cylinder type water condensers from amazon .. you'll likely need an extra fill hose, and if you make up a male fitting with check valve on a female foster it facilitates bleeding/stopping/starting ... anything else - just dont flog it to death, run it 10, cool it 20 ,and run a fan on it ..

Corena s2 p150 oil is what I use, only run mine for about 10 min. at a time. Try to stay under 50C. I'd change oil pretty quick after a break-in run. Then after at your discretion.
Don't start the pump under pressure. And don't shut it down under pressure either.
Go ahead and replace your pressure gauge, it will fail. The water pump is fine.
I like to roll mine over to a fresh water source when convenient so I'm always running cool water thru it

Just got mine a 2 weeks, or so, ago. I'd heard factory water pumps were 400L/H, mine came rated at 600L/H. Agree with others, both 400 and 600L/H are fine. Water has to flow thru small brass ports so big pumps aren't going to help much, anyway. Try to keep water at same level as compressor, helps pump work easier.
My first oil is a HUSKY Air Compressor blended synthetic, Ebay $6.99@16oz. Compressor takes 10 ounces. After initial 1 hour break-in period, I'll drain oil and install HUSKY Full Synthetic Air Compressor oil, $9.99@16oz. on Ebay. HUSKY full synthetic from then on.
Do SEARCH on forum's Compressor section, "Yong Heng" to find pictures of member set-ups. Get ideas and design something that works for you. Some use rolling carts, some shelves, some sealed coolant systems, others, ice buckets. LongGunDallas, vinny and dizzums are spot-on with advice, too.
Bought $21 double-sided tape mounted, Vibration Hour Meter on Ebay.

Here is my standard post to all things Yong Heng hope it is helpful.
The Yong Heng "Simple" version least expensive does not have a water separator you need one.
If you messed up and got the “Simple” version you can get parts on Aliexpress to add it for <$40 or you can spend much more on a decent water separator and filter.
The "Auto Stop" version shuts off near 3000psi probly not a good thing for most people.
So you likely want the "Hardcover" or "Set Pressure" versions your choice on the 110V or 220V.
The 220V will run approximately 15% faster here in the USA as we run our 220V at 60hz instead of the 50hz found elsewhere. This may or may not be a problem depending on the compressors environment and cooling.
I am aware that shipping has gone way up and this is no longer the least expensive place to buy the YH but it will show you the different models so you know what to look for elsewhere.

Give them a dedicated 15amp outlet 20 would be better. They draw a bit of juice on startup especially the brand new ones. Don’t Use an extension cord unless it is short and has an honest 15+ amp rating. Preferably 12ga wire so you will not have problems.
ISO 46 may no longer be recommended although I used it for a year without failure. I am currently using the Husky Brand Synthetic or synthetic blend oil, found at Home Depot, for two years now without a problem. Top it off to the red circle in the sight glass. This oil is clear so you can see when it gets contaminated.
Don't push your air fill past the compressor’s spec which is 4350psi. A little less is usually better than the max, and the Yong Heng should last for years unless you get a bad one.
I did my first oil change at about an hour, it was extremely dark colored. I went far longer, between changes, after that.
I now have two YH compressors bought the second as a backup for the first as I fergot to turn on the coolant pump several times and overheated the first until it smoked. It did not like it but it continued to run just fine. Still I did not trust it after that. I added a switched outlet, to the system, so it turns the pump on before the compressor will power up to keep me from doing that from now on.
The second one, my back up unit, died in about two months bad QC from the factory. Cost me $12 for a new second stage piston and an hours’ time to replace it. Then to add insult to injury I fergot to put oil in, the latest unit after I put it back together, and ran it for several minutes without any. So I filled it with oil and it fired up and somehow still werqs fine. A testament to the oil it had in it before. The #1 unit that, I was worried about cuz I overheated it so many times, just kept on filling my guns and tanks till I got #2 repaired. The #1 unit got retired because it had the weak old style piston in it. I will replace that someday and have another good compressor.
I do not fill past 4200psi as when I do, all too often, I blow a burst disc. This may not happen on the first or second fill but soon thereafter it will.
The temperature sensor only measures head temperature so running it much over 20-30 minutes can overheat the motor and other parts even if ice is used in the coolant. Ice or a container of it, in the coolant, is a good idea especially if you are like me and do not use the full five gallons of water as suggested in the manual.
Keep your water supply level with the compressor to be kind to the pump and assure a good supply of coolant goes through the compressor.
I recently started using this Red Line water treatment after I noticed algae growth in my 2.5 gallon water bucket every few months. It seems to have stopped or significantly slowed the algae growth. I will know more in a few months.
Three months has gone by with no discernable algae growth so the water treatment werqs for that long anyway.

Purge the system of moisture, using the screw valves on both sides of the compressor, for a couple of seconds every five minutes while in use.
Change out your small YH filter every twenty minutes and set the old one out to dry and reuse later.
Add a better filter if needed to be sure more moisture and any oil smell is removed from the system. Many of us use this Tuxing three media filter although, if you feel the need, you can change media types at any time.

Bleed the pressure before you turn the unit off and let it run a few seconds to get the better part of the moisture out of the system. I have found that I blow less burst discs if I bleed before shutting down so I do this religiously.
Let the coolant pump run for a few minutes after shutdown to cool things off.
I run the compressor in my 65 degree basement with humidity levels between 55 and 65%. Your purging times, filter and cooling requirements may be different than mine if your humidity levels and temperatures are not the same.

And I bought the simple GX cs2 oiless compressor off Amazon fully assembled and fill my PCP's in seconds.
Has me wondering why this yong heng is recommended with all these additional requirements.

Because the oil-less, water-less compressors are disposable compressors not made to last any length of time. Manufacturers stated rebuild on most of them is 20 hours . If you are kind to them they can make it that far. That means little to no tank filling. Where they do shine is in the portability area and many being 12V capable so you can fill wherever your vehicle is.
Heat is an issue that oil and water can overcome so the Yong Heng and other water cooled units with oil in the crankcase do better and last way longer for the most part. They can also top off larger tanks and even fill them from empty if you are careful.
