I bought a Panthera compact hunter in .177 that came with a Donny Ryu moderator from the seller. The Ryu is smaller in diameter than the shroud and I knew I wasn’t going to use it, but I wasn’t going to tell him to NOT include it. Surprisingly, the little Ryu sounds better on this gun than my IA1200, my Fatboy, and my Donny FX. I’m not sure it’s quieter, but the tone is more pleasing than all of them. The only thing I’ve got that’s better in tone and also noise level is the big ole Ronin. Super stealthy isn’t the goal here, but something to take the edge off is. The Yokozuna seems appealing because of its modularity and the QD feature so it’s on the short list. Does anyone have input on tone comparison between it and the Ryu?

I want a Ryu I have a yokozuna in 22, ronin and donny fx. The ronin is the only one that's abandoned now. The yokozuna needed to drop a baffle for harmonics on my tensioned 700mm but it alone is quieter than a ronin and shroud combined. My buddies have sumos and the new baffle design smokes all the old style mods.

After I did all the work to make a carbon harmonic shroud fit over a tensioner system I realized the balance of the gun with the ronin sucked and it was a monstrosity for length, then the yoko came out and saved the build. If you sell that 177 Ryu, dm me

I don't want to come off sounding Ill of the Donny's( believe me, I am a fan ..over 15 of them ), but as a for instance , I put the Yokozuna (as it came to me ), on a Macavity .30 cal. It looks super slick, and I love the QD feature, and the ability to add/delete baffles...BUT it was STILL too loud for my taste! I swapped over to the moderator that I believe just does a better job of quieting beast down (I have tested this on many rifles)....Silent Thunder Ordinance Sarissa high flow! The thing just takes the bark out of annoying loud rifles (within reason of course)....you are not going to "backyard friendly" your typical 45 cal powerhouse...Believe me...I've tried even with Ronin's and extensions!
