DadsKrag, those look real good. Looks like I'll be getting some of that Rusty Walnut stain, too. A tutorial would be appreciated,
I use this cut 50/50 with boiled linseed oil. The linseed oil slows down the drying time.

After staining with the water based stain I apply the oil mixture liberally until the wood no longer soaks it up. After drying for several days I "wet-sand" with 320 and turpentine on a rubber block usually used to apply Bondo..
I let the slurry dry, them wipe across the grain working the dried slurry into the grain. Now is the time to touch up anyplace where the stain has gotten sanded through, Thus is why I use the water based stain.
Let the stain dry, then rub a few drops briskly onto the wood . After 1bout 10 minutes, wipe the oil off with a soft cotton cloth and polish leaving a microscopic layer of finish.
Repeat several times until you get the sheen you desire. It leaves a nice satiny sheen when done properly.
The nice thing about his finish is that it can be retouched with a bit of steel wool polishing and reapplication of stain/oil.
