Yes, the FWB300S Lives up to the Hype!

Recently acquired a 1977 FWB300S that I rebuilt today with the help of Joe Rhea’s videos. He’s onee awesome guy, offering me some advice over the phone. Not being much of a springer guy, this was a new world for me. Have not even tried any different pellets, have not shot it in yet (not even 50 shots), but was eager to try it out.

Wow, insanely accurate! This is 20 shots, 18.5 yds, 8.4 gr AA Diabolo Field, off a Caldwell tripod and a scope I slapped on there in 5 minutes.

Color me impressed!

Try the JSB 7.87 gr pellets. You should get better groups.

 If you mean to tell me it’ll get a tighter 20 shot group with a different pellet, I’m gonna giggle like a little girl lol....I normally just do 5 & 10 shot groups. But I just had to see what 20 looked like.

Apparently it is a FWB 300S in good operating order, so the accuracy you are getting is to be expected. At 10m I use H&N Finale Match Light Wadcutter, 7.87/4.50 or AA Diabolo Express 7.87. The AA 7.87 are very similar to JSB 7.87. Over 10m I only use AA 7.87.

Yes, I will prob get around to doing that...will prob get the 7.87's as other have suggested. Will need to setup sandbags instead of the tripod for max accuracy.

Also, will look into another scope for it....the one I had laying around is far too long and make loading a royal PITA. So it'll prob be a little bit before I get all that accomplished.

I think JWR has a video about scope lengths for the 300S. The wrong length and a big objective will block the loading port. I currently use a Bushnell 6-24x40 (17 in) and a Sportsmatch adjustable one piece mount. The mount height is just enough to load with no problems.

Well at times I have a shorter scope on one of my FWBs but I also use longer scopes on one. And that puts it past the loading port.

Yes, they're the pellets I prefer in my 300S.
