Hi Guys and Gals,

Hopefully you all had a great Christmas, except maybe you did not get that one of a kind stock for your RAW 1000x.

Well I can help with that.

While I was waiting for my BMx stock to come in I decided to reshape and refinish my Sporter stock.

We will start with that I reshaped the trigger guard to duplicate the LRT stock.

Then I was never totally happy with the Gray laminate color of this one so I decided to change that to a nice natural Walnut color.

Well that is not enough so lets do over 20 coats of tongue oil and sand between each coat. NOW WE ARE TALKING.

So I present to you Copper Head, if you are a follower on the RAW REPORT you have already seen this however, I decided I have this as a spare stock and Christmas did not bring the reloading equipment that I had hoped for so I am putting it up for sale to provide a new reloading press and Chargemaster.

I am looking for $500 for the stock.

I will let the finish speak for itself but there are a couple things I want to disclose.

The stock was removed at some point without taking off the bottle so I found that there are 2 cracks inside the neck, that said I made sure that they are fully epoxied and strong.

The second half is that while I restained the exterior I did not strip the inside of the factory finish. I did not want to change the tight fit that is has to the action by removing however many layers they put on. So this left the inside with the factory finish and did not stain as the outside. Now it is time for some pictures.

THIS IS FOR THE STOCK ONLY NOT THE ACTION.

If you want it I will include the Sinclair Benchrest adapter plate which is a $40 value.

Here is the inside, like I said it is not the same color as the outside but I did dye it to get it close I did not want any gray showing up around the edges of the bottle or action.

This is where someone cracked it, I did not notice until I started to do the finish since it was a mat finish previously and it was on the inside only! However I went in and injected epoxy into the openings and clamped the stock to give it fully secured ears.

Here you can see that I left the grip area a satin finish, this was after I redid the stippling on the grip area and dyed it a darker walnut color to give a slight accent to the area.

The white in the photos is just reflections from my garage, due to the fully polished finish.

Let me know if you guys are interested. I am not looking to give this away as I put a couple weeks into finishing this one of a kind stock, but if I can pay for my new reloading equipment I will sell it to you!

Thanks for looking,

Terry
