I maintain my family's FX Impacts and recently upgraded two of our Impact's C3 bumpers from DURO90 o-rings to Delrin washers. I was having problems with velocity stability and an unexplained significant drop-off in velocity that was caused by the C3 o-ring wearing. I have a high-end consumer CNC router, but just ordered 4 Delrin C3 washers from FX USA rather than take the time to layout and cut my own on my CNC. They typically sell for $5 each, plus around $8 shipping, so around $28 to get 4 if paying the shipping, or $20 if shipping with a paid warranty return. The order was holding for a warranty return to be shipped when I had had it, and decided I needed them immediately. So, I did the layout and cutting work on my CNC and cancelled the order.
Since I was laying it out, it's more efficient to make several in one run vs just a couple, so I made a bunch. I also decided to make three sizes for potential tuning/power variations. I had read somewhere on the forum that you could affect the valve opening action and power generated by using a thicker C3 Delrin washer. It's my understanding the nominal washer thickness for the Delrin C3 bumper is ~1.50mm. So, I made three runs producing a batch of each at thicknesses of 1.50mm, 2.00mm and 2.50mm (+/- 0.05mm). I have not done mods to our Impact X airguns, and I'm not an Impact tuner to the nth degree, so I cannot tell you a kit like this would be significantly useful as a true "tuning kit". However, since I did experience a reasonable and noticeable increase in power when switching from a DURO90 o-ring to the Delrin washer as a result of more energy transferring to the hammer stop, I would have to assume changing the thickness of this washer would also affect the power developed. But... I haven't tested it myself, so I'm only sharing theory which may or may not be accurate.
At the very least, I figure if a set three washers allowing you to vary the thickness by as much as 1.00mm doesn't affect power enough to be considered a tuning tool, you have one primary and two spares for what I want to make a very reasonable price.
The specs are as follows:
ID: ~2.97mm Fits snuggly on the 3.0mm shaft of item number 7064 (Valvepin Impact Complete) to stay put against the hammer stop.
OD: ~6.95mm
THICKNESS: 1 each at ~1.50mm, ~2.00mm and ~2.5mm
All specs have a tolerance of +/- ~0.05mm. If you have problems, just let me know.
I ran enough to make about 25 sized sets. If anyone wants one, PayPal $10.00 to [email protected], include the US mailing address where you'd like the set sent, and I'll place a set in an envelope and send via US First Class Mail. Shipping to continental US only. Payment via PayPal only. If by some chance, demand surpasses my supply, I can always run some more.
