OK, so trying to be a little thought provocative here and see what you guys think, or better yet, Know.

FX, the always innovating air gun brand. They have build a reputation for many things, but most notably...innovation. So now I look at their stable and think to myself: What gun is someone to get if they wanted an FX. I see all the new models, and although they are being marketed, I do not see a clear differentiation of some of these. Lots of videos showing off all these new guns, and all I'm left is confused.

For example: Why would anyone buy the Impact now that the Dreamline (from my ignorant eyes) can be made to almost be one, but then so much more. Seems like the Dreamline could replace a good portion of their guns all at the same time. Why would anyone buy a Streamline? or even a Crown?

Are Wildcats able to change calibers? & if so why would anyone buy any specific gun over the other?

Good question. I think for me, the only easy choice is for a hunting rifle, and that's easy. The new Wildcat MK2 Compact in .25. But then, do I get that, or the new EDgun R5M in .25? The FX is much cheaper, but (arguably) the EDgun is better looking, and able to shoot the .25 heavies at 60 fpe. Both are compact, accurate, easy to handle and shoot. What to do, what to do...? :)
Aside from that, you are 100% correct. Are they going to phase out the Streamline? Why buy a Streamline when you can get the Dreamline for the same price? Or a Crown even...

Heck I bought the Crown and Impact. I can't complain about the performance and looks. (green laminate stock on the Crown) I don't know how much more the Dreamline would cost for the upgraded stock and you can't get the bottle on the Dreamline. Having 75-100 rnds between fills is nice I also got the X Barrel with the Crown. The people that bought the Impact and Crown paid for the cost of the Dreamline engineering. (I purchased both sold the Impact to buy the Crown).

1. Upgraded stock
2. X Barrel (not sure if this would be a up grade on the Dreamline)
3. Bottle Gun (don't think you can get this on a Dreamline)
3 items that would be a upgrade. the stock I would think would be at least a 300.00 upgrade.
What the Dreamline would cost with these 3 upgrades if you could get all of them I would venture to guess would be 1600.00.
if you can't get all 3 then you would have to pay the 2000.00 for the Crown or Impact.

In the end I got great quality guns that shoot well, I have a awesome dealer in Utah (Utah Airguns).
So no complaints in the end and I am glad to see my money is going to making better guns and more competition for everyone.
If you are just looking for performance I don't know why you would spend the extra money for the Impact or Crown
shot count for the Dreamline would be in the 30-40 shot for .25. that is just my guess by looking at the cylinder size.

Glad you brought this up intenseaty22. I had the same question yesterday and thought of posting it. The Wildcat and impact are so similar; the crown, especially now with the synthetic stock, is lower on cost, and the Dreamline basically turns into all of them (except the cocking mech moves too far back in bulpup). Other than price, what is the real difference? Adjustability? Shot count? If it has the same Barrel, wouldn’t it be just as accurate?

I think that’s one of the issues with most of the manufacturers. Lack of information, I mean, we are in an age where information is instant, yet a lot of these websites are very lackluster.

@Centercut That is a tough one. I hear that Edguns are very easy to work on, that would influence me. That “WarCat” is looking very desirable indeed. I figured I would get the Cricket, but A) I don’t need one / can’t really use one now B) It’s pretty big I think

@Golfer70 No clue, I would call somewhere like AoA or UA. I like cylinders, don’t care about too much shot count.

CHRISTIAN i been thinking the same thing ,,but i do have a WILDCAT and IMPACT so im pretty set there but plans were to get the CROWN and maybe STREAMLINE ,then the DREAMLINE comes along kind of made me put the breaks on,, i have a 30 cal RAW HM 1000X and another in 25 cal due this month,,so i have a decent stable ,but i think where always looking to the next,, at least i am ,,where i have 2 FX already im going to wait for the next phase of the DREAMLINE,, for me it really nice but dosent seem to give me that wow effect ,,so im waiting ,i do however think EDGUN R5M looks awesome and what ive seen from other EDGUNS the long range abilitys are great 300 yrds or so ,,so R5M and bROCOCK SNIPER will be my next purchases hopefully by then the new VULCANS will have been released HYNZIE

@ashes5, so, you live near UA? I would love to be near a place I can hold and see before buying. One of the main reasons I deal with Georgia Airguns is I can drive there (and great service)

I see your point, no regrets man. I’m personally looking at a specific configuration of that DL and or yhe Warcat (but much later, a 25 is overkill right now for me)

I always wanted an FX gun, came real close to ordering one several times. Had my sights on the Wildcat, Boss, Royale, Streamline and now the Crown, Dreamline and Wildcat MKII. No doubt they are all fine guns, spent hours researching, just never could decide. In the meantime I got a Taipan Veteran, EDgun R5, EDgun Leshiy and have a RAW on order. Now I’m not sure I really want or need an FX now, guess I’ll have to wait and see if I change my mind later on.

I like the idea of the Dreamline. One platform that you can change to suit your needs is a great idea. I do have to admit that there is one thing that gives me a bit of apprehension. Generally speaking. When you make something to do multiple tasks, it may do most of them well but none of them great. I have lots of tools for work - each one to do a particular task. I do not own a multitool.
That said, I really do hope that the Dreamline is "All That".

@Hynzie I think you are pretty set. I think I would wait it out and see how the new crop turns out, then maybe sell and upgrade?
I’m all about that R5M. The Brocock looks nice, but I fear overpriced. They are supposed to be the Scion to the Lexus. For me, I really don’t care to have too many guns that do the same thing. ie a .22 WC a .22 Veteran & a .22 Compatto. 2 max in any given category just in case one goes down on me.

Nice ce collection as it is. What cal is that Leshiy? I’m pondering about one, maybe in .177. How is your accuracy with it? Say 50 yards or less.

I can see the end cost of the dreamline going well over the crown or impact depending on how many configurations one would want . bet that ft stock costs as much as the base rifle . After looking at it for the past week I think I'd still rather have a streamline .22 and a Wildcat .25 since I already have a crown . Have to start shopping for them used when the dreamline starts shipping . lol

I would pick the Dreamline over the Streamline, and the Crown over the Impact for bottle guns, and the Wildcat over the Impact because of cost-and I don't know if I'd like that type of gun because I've never owned or shot a bullpup. I might also pick the Dreamline over the crown depending on the cost differences but stock and shot count play a role in that too. I don't know enough about the dreamline yet to say for sure.

The Leshiy is .25, cool little gun. It’s very accurate up to 50 yds, I haven’t had much time to play with it yet.
