Absolutely would shoot a white squirrel, rabbit, rat, etc.

Hard to tell. Looking at video I do not think it is albino. The eyes do not look red enough.

Then reality sets in and I picture the chewed wires on my vehicles and other damages as I squeeze the trigger.

We have all three phases of the Eastern Grey Squirrel (black, grey and white - in that order of population density) on the property and it's common to see all three under the bird feeder at the same time.

I don't hunt the white squirrels, the black and the grey ones do get invited in for dinner regularly though.

Several years ago I was riding my bicycle on a local trail and had a light colored critter run in front of me and caught it with both tires, it then ran into the woods. Being in shorts and biking shoes I decided not to follow the wounded critter into the woods. Two weeks later, in the exact same spot, I looked over and saw a VERY blond squirrel eating a nut and giving me a dirty look! First time I ever saw a blond squirrel.

I was in a town called Olney. Ill. years ago and they had white squirrels everywhere. I like squirrel hunting but can't think of a reason I'd shoot one with so many grey's around. YMMV though.

We have the black ones here too... they just aren't as cool at the monkey faces.

I only ever saw one black squirrel growing up. I went back to my parents house this year and now that is the only color they have in the area. Almost all the greys and reds are gone.

kind of like a unicorn if you ask me.

I’d shoot it 100% if I was hunting or pesting. Albinism just a genetic mutation/defect. And usually comes along with other issues for the animal.

It’s completely different than shooting a rare or endangered species.

The way I see it, it’s no different than taking a trophy buck with freaky antler genetics.
