Recently got this scope in a package deal from one of the big retailers.... I realize I could probably whack it in with a rubber mallet but I would rather send it back. opinions?????
What is your complaint about the scope? The plug that sits at an angle.is not unusual. That is where the nitrogen is put into the scope. Lots of scopes have them angled just like that.

When in doubt, always select a bigger hammer... lol
Hey, a couple of luv taps, it works for these guys on my new scope... I'd use that method for sure at 5seconds into the vid...

Seriously, glad you came on here asking before going with your first instinct giving your new scope a whack with a rubber mallet. Possibility you'd have dislodged the plug and lost the nitro charge

My first thought is ALWAYS hit it with a hammer. When I did metal fabrication that seemed to be the fix for everything.
I was unsure if the plug was supposed to be like that or not.... that is why I asked for opinions before I went to get the hammer. Thx guys

Yeah, just keep pounding hard on that thing til it's flush, lol. Do the same thing to the turrets while your at it

That is the erector spring retainer. Scopes that use a coil spring (rather than a leaf spring) for the erector tube usually have that. It is threaded in. If it is loose, you can turn it in until it bottoms. Don't bang it in with a hammer.
