Crosman, Umerex or some other manufacturer should revive the SA6 in a new configuration. Imagine a improved pistol carbine similar to the SA6. The pistol of the time worked nicely, except now it has cylinder/barrel seal. and better sights. Loading in the cylinder port like a Ruger or Heritage .22 revolver It also sports a cylinder for two co2 cartridges or PCP. With a good barrel. Leaving it a single action. Your choice. Was available in .177 or .22 for co2 or .177 - .25 for PCP.
Would you buy one?

I would not buy one. I did own one of the originals for a while when I was a teenager (don't ask how long ago THAT was, lol!) It was a .22 and shot very poorly. When I got a bit more knowledgeable I took a look at the barrel- there was a groove missing from the rifling! Small wonder it wasn't accurate. I do have to say the pistol carbine looks super cool, would have loved one of those back then.

My big brother had a SA-6 in the Sixties. It wasn't much of a shooter in the short time it did work; emphasis on short. However it was great fun just to play with (quick-draw, dry-fire, etc.), as most frontier style revolvers are.

I owned a VERY COOL .45 black-powder revolving carbine for a while. Although accurate enough, the flash from the cylinder gap blasted your cheek with every shot, making it near impossible to actually shoot it accurately.

So with experience with not only what you ask, but what such a revolving Co2/PCP carbine of decent-to excellent quality would cost, I wouldn't 'invest' four figures in one.

Others do .. I shall as well.

We should be out shooting .. Winter time brings out the open sharing of thoughts some may find objectionable. Such is life. :ROFLMAO:

PCPs IMO try to emulate modern rifles. Or some space gun. I find most of them ugly. Not all of use are into them. I very much expected for the PCP guys to say no.

Saying co2 platform is obsolete is like saying spring piston is obsolete.

Replica guns, co2 guns, spring piston guns and PCP all have a place. It depends on what you're likes are. Nothing else.

The problem with replica firearms, although in this case it's an air gun, as intended, they look like a firearm. More than one kid has been shot when brandishing such a weapon. In the anxiety of the moment, no one can make the split second identification of the air gun. Anyone who buys such a thing should be very diligent in its safekeeping and monitored use. As they say, once you pull the trigger, there is no recalling the bullet. No, I would not buy one.

Yes kids have been shot for this. As I'm sure some adults. And I bet most of them had no idea about anything to do with firearms safety. Or cared about it.

In today's climate its probably smart not to be brandishing and airgun in public. Good change something unwanted might happen.

Having to Pay $$ for Co2 cart/s .... Done they go into the landfill :cautious:
Can really only use above 65* there about & becomes rather volatile nearing 100* & above :oops:
Sure they work, just yesteryear's tech that is still supported by some manufacturers & end users.

Now Lookalikes .... the obvious is really easy to see if one looks & thinks about it.

You would think it would be the other way around and it would be PCP that is obsolete. With CO2 you drop in the CO2 cartridge and you are all set. No being dependent on expensive bulky air tanks and compressors. Yes of course PCP guns have more power and that's an advantage if you hunt with air guns.

As far as replica guns being mistaken for real guns. Go ahead and wave around one of those space age looking PCP guns in public and see what happens.

I believe it really comes down to what you enjoy shooting and your specific needs.

My answer to the OP's question. No I don't think I would buy one.
