Yes kids have been shot for this. As I'm sure some adults. And I bet most of them had no idea about anything to do with firearms safety. Or cared about it.

In today's climate its probably smart not to be brandishing and airgun in public. Good change something unwanted might happen.

As with many things, a conscientious user precludes the problem. I was a kid in the days of the Mattel Fanner 50. Heck, kids wore'em to school. In high school I took a shotgun to school as part of a business class presentation! It's a different world today. The good ol' days weren't necessarily that great, but we sure didn't have the propensity for violence that is prevalent today. Which gets me back to my point. Toy or air guns that look like handguns, being easy both to obtain and conceal, have been the catalyst for tragic events, and that worries me. But, your point is well taken, and proper training is essential.

The problem with replica firearms, although in this case it's an air gun, as intended, they look like a firearm. More than one kid has been shot when brandishing such a weapon. In the anxiety of the moment, no one can make the split second identification of the air gun. Anyone who buys such a thing should be very diligent in its safekeeping and monitored use. As they say, once you pull the trigger, there is no recalling the bullet. No, I would not buy one.

Honestly any air pistol on the market can easily be misconstrued as a firearm. Not pointing them at someone (which should be taught and drilled in anyones head airgun or not) will keep you from getting dead. Not getting dead is always a good thing.

Having to Pay $$ for Co2 cart/s .... Done they go into the landfill
Can really only use above 65* there about & becomes rather volatile nearing 100* & above
Sure they work, just yesteryear's tech that is still supported by some manufacturers & end users.

Now Lookalikes .... the obvious is really easy to see if one looks & thinks about it.

CO2 cartridges can be recycled just like booze bottles and cans, and those

BTW I might buy a pistol like that SA6 but wouldn't buy a pistol with a funny little stock. If a pistol shoots well and I can shoot cans (or sparrows or whatever) with it I might be interested. I have introduced many nice youngsters to shooting with co2 pistols including our 3 fine sons. Easy to cock and very easy to handle. I can have anybody hitting soda cans or? in minutes and it's fun. Airguns aren't just for old farts (I'm not that far off) and target shooting.
