Words I Hate

I hate to see umm

squirrel food huggers fawning over manufacturers in an attempt to get freebies or preferential treatment.

I think I hate it a little bit when I read the word accuracy — even though the writer refers to "consistently small groups" — which is precision. 🤔

Accuracy is when a shot hits close to the bulls eye (correct POI on the target).

Precision is when several shots all hit close together (consistent POI).

Of course — we want BOTH! 😄

This pic is from the www.Ballistipedia.com — a great resource. 😊

Here is a better explanation than I can give. 👍🏼

“Tack Driver”

Who in the he$! drives a tack with any pellet or bullet?

Estwing makes tools to do said.

I suppose part of this was driven buy a guy I knew that always described all his rifles as “tack drivers.”

Accurate....

I know where the term “tack driver” came from for me. When I was young my dad and I would spend an evening shooting from 100-500yrds. He with a .270 and me with a 22-250. When we were almost finished we would shoot the tacks that held our targets up. Now I guess we have staple drivers.

CT’s : I’ll try shooing in some nails next time I install some siding.👍 Great idea.

a lot of machine shops have the business name or advertise “precision.” I get that!!

Hornady: Accurate, Deadly, Dependable.

Savage Arms: “The definition of Accuracy.”

Accurate: easy these days to find on the web a definition that satisfies your way of thinking.. 😀

example: diabolo. Yep, often misspelled. But a game? Alrighty then.
