Look close! I spotted and shot him right there from 119 yds . Amazing the amount of damage these buggers do in any landscape rock walls, vegetables, and just dig damn big holes. Lights out ! The “Dirty Thirty” did me proud !
Evil woodchuck he was not doing his job then and got what he deserved. Hats off to the Dirty 30. Just one of many destructive little creatures we must deal with in the world.
Love shooting groundhogs congrats. I got one the other day on a permission that was eating the wiring on a flatbed trailer when I rudely interrupted it by shooting it in the head.
BEST shot I ever made was with a Beeman R1 The chuck was feeding towards me, about 40 yards away. I whistled, he stood up and I hit him in the forehead. His two front paws reached up to where the pellet entered...and he fell over....face first..
My Dad shot one in his garden while it was eating his string beans about 30 yards out of his bedroom window.. I never thought a woodchuck could climb a fence, but there he was.... stretched out vertically eating his last meal. That Beeman R1 in .22 cal with Kodiak pellets was no toy ! The chuck took one in the back of the head and dropped like a rock.
Great shot! And good eye for spotting him at that distance. I can honestly say I enjoy groundhog hunting more than any other game animal! They will soon be poking their heads out here. I cant wait!
