The trigger adjustment is tricky. The adjustment described as the weight adjustment is actually the sear engagement setting, but it does affect the release weight. Unless you want to experiment with polishing parts and trying different springs, all you can do is set the engagement as shallow as safety allows. The design they use with the locking grub screw makes this difficult, because when you snug it down to lock the adjustment screw, it may also turn the adjustment screw a bit, which might then be unsafe, or even leaving it unable to cock. With my Revere, I set the adjustment where I wanted, but then, rather than locking it with the grub screw, I used a small amount of low-strength thread locking compound, which avoided the risk of additionally moving the adjustment screw. It has been totally safe and reliable. I believe the release weight is about 7 ounces. Since this is using the adjustment at the very extreme of its range, the results are going to vary with individual rifles, and very small differences in final polish and springs will determine the lightest setting that is safely feasible. I was prepared to disassemble mine and work on it, but luckily I got an acceptable setting without that need.
