Wind flag recommendations please.

How's about Bright Fluorescent streamers from your Ben Franklin Crafts or a Birthday Party store or even Wal-Mart Birthday Section taped onto long BBQ skewers? Not the paper ones though. Gotta be able to handle rain. I would have at least 10 one for every 10 yards and one hanging from your gun. Good Luck. Yo!

That chicken feather has proven more effective than most of the tech gadgets I’ve spent money on

For those who are suggesting streamers and surveyors tape, I have used many different things in the past but the best hands down is VHS tape, it reacts great with the wind and will show you any little variations. ;~)

I tried to add a little video clip but it won't let me ;~( so here's a pic of the ones I built.

Take care John C

Would probably be better if they were a brighter color but if one can see them easily then it seems to be an excellent idea. And you can get a lifetime supply from your Jane Fonda workout tape when the player goes 10 toes up.

I would suggest you take a look at both Orlando Wind Solutions http://www.orlandowindflags.com/ and Flying Fish Fundamentals http://www.flyingfishfundamentals.com/index_files/pricelist.htm . I use the Style “A” air gun flags with a clip on updraft meter from Orlando with a sail tail from Flying Fish. I replaced the smaller tail that came with the Orlando flag with the larger sail tail as it is a bit less sensitive and helps me read direction changes better. Between the two you have lots of options depending on your needs.

Thank you for reminding me of my childhood days! Yo!

To calibrate a wind flag sensitivity you need to cut a piece of material and you will also need a few pellets as well as some tape. Decide where the angle you want 10 mph to be and have a friend drive you down a country road 10 mph while holding the flag out the window. If the angle is not the angle desired tape a pellet to it to get the desired angle. You may have to move the pellet or use a longer or shorter piece of plastic. Then have the driver change speed and you watch where the flag is at the different speeds. I know a lot of guys use plastic but I am partial to brightly colored yarn with a cluster of yarn threads forming a ball at the bottom but I am not shooting past 50 yards.
