HW/Weihrauch Williams sights - FP-GR fit issue

There's a lot to be said for that...I love those too!

A sporting peep is a different animal than a match diopter though...I appreciate the small size, lignt weight, versatile standard-size eyepiece thread, and unobstructed view you get with the Williams sights. But there's an open market niche for a similar airgun-friendly, dovetail-mounted peep that's sturdier and more thoughtfully detailed. So many terrific compact aperture sights have been made over the years - by Williams, Redfield, Lyman, Marbles, Vaver, Parker-Hale, and many more - it's odd that this should be so.
Yes, so true...and also the FP-AG will fit the FWB 11.3 dovetail and sometimes (?) even the older 13mm HW dovetail, and the GR is required if using the Lyman 17AEU front sight to replace the hard-to-find original HW front sight used on the earlier guns.

I have an older Williams sight on my FWB 124d. I got it from Beemans back in the mid 1970's. It does not have that adjustable "gib" on the right side that is tightened by those two tiny screws. It taps onto the dovetail snugly then has a set screw to secure, after removing the elevation slide. I think it is more secure and sturdy than the current models which fit a lot of different size dovetails.

The "Fool Proof-Airgun" peep is general purpose. The BPA S82 and the ARH 624 are Williams peeps specifically made for FWB and the early HW 13mm dovetail...very rare??? I'd guess BPA is Beeman Precision Airguns, and ARH is the fella who preceded Beeman???
