Wildcat STX

Okay so i figured out the accuracy problem i was having with my wildcat The barrel was not tight and was spinning. The set screw had loc tight on it so I’m guessing it was never tight from factory explaining my poi shifts from day one. But I’m still liking the idea of a STX barrel on wildcat MKI and a slug liner. Anyone know if i can do this?

Asked this question of Fredrick at EBR this year and believe the answer was no. Something to do with diameter maybe. There was talk of a work-around. Hopefully somebody that knows for sure will jump in. sylvan

Yeah i hope that’s not true! It opens up many doors and options I’d like to explore, especially hunting medium sized game!

The Wildcat wasn't designed with upgrades in mind like the Impact was. I'm sure anyone with the right tools can do it, but for a drop in replacement, call FX USA directly at

866 639 0772 and ask the question. If the folks in the front office don't know, they'll arrange for a tech to call back. Might even get the legendary Mr. Ernest Rowe (OK, I didn't but the tech still knew exactly what was wrong!)

Assuming you get an X Barrel with a slug liner mounted on your Wildcat you then will have to come up with some sort of single shot tray for loading your slugs, because the magazine well does not lend itself to easily single loading by hand. Tweezers maybe?

I bought one and it works great, magazine works without removal of the single shot tray....although I have not used it for slugs, so I dunno about length.
