Wildcat MKII Upgrades

A year ago, Carl (@oregun) got me hooked on airguns. I’ve since spent a lot of time on Airgun Nation. What a community! I’ve met a ton of great people, learned so much and have essentially become an airgun junkie! Thanks in particular to Michael for the continued care and feeding of this forum. Without it, a newbie like me would still be in the dark.

My first airgun was a .25 Wildcat MKII. To celebrate my one year anniversary, I decided to show my Wildcat a little love. I’d love to get your feedback! Here’s what I did…

  • New Picatinny Rail
  • New Huma Regulator (set to 145 bar)
  • New Huma Regulator Gage (w/ stock mod)
  • Mag Index Mod
  • New Viper PST II 5-25x50 FFP
  • Hydrodip (w/ custom wildcat print)

I also bought an SLITE SL500 Boresight to get things lined up and a Streamlight TLR-2 HLG. The latter is for that friggin skunk that keeps nailing my dog! ;)

I just noticed those are "wildcat's" on the stock...Duh! Really cool though. I'm considering a Wildcat in MKII and a couple of other rifles. I reached out to Chuck about the Wildcat Mods. especially the Huma reg. and a power tune. He's doing some great stuff with the Wildcat MKII's. Who did the stock and pressure gauge? I'm so familiar with the FX guns, and I have a 600mm slug liner coming that would be interchangeable between my Crown and Wildcat. Even though there are a couple other guns that I'm seriously considering, they're much more expensive and it keeps me coming back to the Wildcat. I'm in no hurry though, I want to be very happy with my decision. Have a good one. Stoti

Hey Stoti,

I did all the work myself but was coached by crusher and chuck. All the work that is but the hydro-dip. I've done a lot of hydro-dipping in the past but I managed to screw up my first attempt with this stock. After figuring out that I was in over my head with the dip on this stock, I farmed it out to a local shop here in Oregon to do. The print though came from Kansas Hydro-graphics. -Dave

@dwilson050 - Great build! I like everything about it!

That's one hard stock to hydro-dip. The complexity of dipping thumbhole bullpup stocks can be mind thumbing.

Been doing a lot of truck shooting lately & favoring compact airguns myself. Right now I'm shooting a .22 Matador R5m & a .22 Colibri. Both tuned to shoot 18g @ 835 fps.

I've never owned a Wildcat but it's a purposebuilt tool that's on my shortlist. If I recall your also an Edgun fan. Care to share your thoughts on the pros & cons between the two?
