Looking for users of this platform feedback. Looking at m3 as well. I've had mk2 impact but m3 is quick tune ability and short throw lever is appealing.

I’ve got the mk3 BT compact in .22. I also own a couple of impact m3’s and now a Panthera. My hands down favorite out of all of them. The wildcat mk3 BT by FAR.
It’s easy to tune. Plenty of power. Handles perfectly and is laser beam accurate. It’s not finicky about what it shoots either. Mine shoots pellets and 23 grain slugs like a dream.

I have a Wildcat MK3 BT compact in .22. For comparison, I also have a Crown MKII .25 500mm, a Wildcat MK3 BT .30 600mm, an Impact M3 .25 600mm, and a Dream Tact Compact in .177. I have always felt there was no better stock than that of the Wildcat, but I am more a hunter than benchrest shooter. I owned a Warcat, a Wildcat MK3 tube version, and a Maverick. The Wildcat MK3 BT is a huge improvement over the ones I owned in the past. With the MK3 BT you can shoot pellets, of course, but if you want to shoot slugs, you have the power, air capacity and plenum to do so. It's nice to have the option. If's been said the Maverick and the Wildcat had a baby, and it is the Wildcat MK3 BT. I feel it is the best of both platforms in one, that's why I own 2 of them.

I do not know, maybe someone else will chime in. All my guns are moderated. My .22 cal BT wears a Sumo, because that's what I had laying around. My .30 BT wears a Hugget Snipe. Of course, it will really depend on the tune. On a high power setting without a moderator, I'm sure it will bark. I do know there are guys shooting 500mm Mavericks and Impacts that would likely be as loud un-moderated.

I have a Maverick Compact in 25, Basically the same gun as the Wildcat MK3 BT, just a different stock from my understanding. Also have an M3 in 22 with a 60mm barrel. I know, apples and oranges but not really.
Speaking of the shooting experience between the two, The M3 is more pleasant, but not dramatically so. The two are dead even accuracy wise.
Choosing between a Wildcat MK# BT and an M3? I would lean to the WC just due to it being a bit simpler gun and I won’t argue with all the folks who find the stock much to their liking.
Shroud for reducing noise is all but worthless. You will want a mod. I run a DL Tatsu on my Maverick and it works great.

Thanks for the reply, I have a Tatsu, great little mod. A Wildcat Compact bt is in my future and I was hoping the Tatsu would be enough. I like to keep things short as possible.

I am liking the Wildcat more and more. Only problem I have is I already own a very nice Benjamin Akela that scratches the bullpup itch at 1/3 the cost. The fact I already own a Crown Continuum also doesn't help my inner argument that I also need to buy a Wildcat. I think one of the first youtube videos I watched about PCPs was Matt Dubber shooting a Wildcat. That started me down the rabbit hole.

The Tatsu is Ted Bier’s preferred mod on the compact BT. I run the fat boy 2 on mine and it’s whisper quiet with pellets. I’ve also used the tha little tanto and it worked great. When tuned up to shoot slugs I go with a Sumo. It seems to tame the noise better when the reg is higher.

Baker shows the 25 in stock. Palm Beach Airguns show a 30 in stock. SPAW Airguns list all 3 calibers in stock... Might be worth giving them a call..

Having both the Maverick and the Wildcat BT, I can say that it would be a very difficult decision if I had to go down to one of them. I use a tripod at times and the Maverick is absolutely perfect for that and for bench shooting. For shooting when not stationary....Wildcat all day. The guns are identical outside of 3 things....stock, top rail, trigger guard. One bonus for Wildcat is you can change hammer weights without removing the stock
If you have problems finding them in stock at the most well known places, check with JoeB or Penchetta. Have had good luck with both of those when no one else had anything.

I also have the Wildcat BT and M3 with all the barrel lengths which can be interchanged between the two by switching shrouds. I would list the following as downsides for the Wildcat:
1. For any given caliber, there is a longer portion of barrel on the Wildcat that is unsupported. If you plan to shoot high power from a 700mm barrel then the M3 has the edge in rigidity.
2. I find that my stock M3 can be tuned over a wide spectrum of reg pressures without having to change hammers and springs. Therefore, if you plant to tinker, expect to spend another 100 on bits.
3. The wildcat hammer operates under your face and gets quite tiresome for me at higher power levels. It has quite a sharp ting. The M3 hammer is further away and has a more muted tone. Of course, tolerance varies among individuals.
Overall, I consider the M3 to be worth the extra dosh. It feels more solid and refined overall.

The gun is loud with shroud alone, without a mod. But the stock hollow mod, and the shroud works well togehter.

Looking seriously at upgrading from a Dreamline to Wildcat III compact 22, curious if your gun is stock and the set up/tune you use for pellets and slugs? Considering the FX tungsten hammer, Huma dual port and FX slug power kit… sure these help but not sure when they are needed. Wish there was a cheap sheet for tunes and when upgrades are required. Thanks

I called FX this morning, sounds like the Wildcat III compact comes tuned for the 18 grain pellets, to shoot the 22 grain pellets you need to increase the 2nd reg to 120-125 and max out the power wheel with the 1.5mm allen wrench. To shoot slugs they suggest to order from FX these hammers which are $8 a piece, 11 gram (part number 19215), 12.4 gram (part number 11540), 14 gram (part number 17003). These allow you to get 950-975 fps. They did not suggest the power kits or other parts.

So I have mine setup with 500mm .22 and a tanto. Also have a 580 bottle.
I have a balanced tune for 17nsa at 985fps.
