FX Wildcat MK3 Bottle

Something strange happened to my Wildcat this moring during a session working up a simple tune for 28 -> 32gr slugs. While shooting well for the first couple of groups, suddenly the rifle, while being cocked, would not engage the trigger sear - caused me to multi-load several pellets because the bolt would not lock open. The issue of stuck pellets is not much of a problem, I just pushed a brass rod from the muzzel until the slugs are cleared from the breach. A couple of times I needed to hold the bolt open as it would not engage the sear. This issue of not engaging the trigger sear first appeared to be intermitant and now it is each time the bolt it thrown. Any insite or help finding and addressing this issue is greately appreciated.

The rifle is stock execpt for a digital reg gauge and new AMP regulator at the bottle. Nothing internal like trigger adjustment or Hammer Spring Wheel has been touched.

I have heard of this happening if the internal hammer spring adjustment screw is turned out counter clockwise too far. You reach a point where the gun will not cock IE engage the trigger sear. I think the max length that screw can be out from the block it is threaded into is about 6mm. Maybe try giving it a turn in clockwise and see if the problem disappears.

Well I'll be damned. Trucker3578 that is exactly the thing I discovered when looking at and working to fix my non cocking Wildcat. Yep, the hammer spring adjustment screw must have backed itself out durring my time tuning for slugs. A little bit of Vibra-tite should stop that from happening in the future. Thanks for the heads up.
