I've just ordered a new Wildcat mk2 and I'm a little confused about STX barrels will be available for it. Specifically I'm curious if there will be a 700mm STX barrel/should for it. If not, I'll just get a 600mm liner.

I do not believe a 700 mm will be available. It is for the Impact only is my understanding.

I'm not certain as it was an advertisement a month or so ago, but I recall seeing something on airtanksforsale.com about 700mm barrels being available. Perhaps I misread and it is in fact only Impact, but I thought I say Wildcat as well.

Nope....just checked and it is listed as an IMPACT only, nothing for the Wilcat II, sorry for the false alarm....60's talkin'.

I have a suspicion that the barrel itself would fit , the shroud assy may or may not work . This is just my opinion of course , I will be getting a 700 .25 next month to try in my crown but don't have a mk2 but a friend may be getting one in a couple months . Its definately an experiment I would love to try .
My understanding is that the shroud assymblies and bolt probes are what makes the kits gun specific , the barreles themselves are interchangeable .

I decided to change my order to an Impact. I really want to have more options than the Wildcat offers, and since I'm used to the adjustability of my Crown, I think I did the right thing

I don't think you did the wrong thing. The ability to adjust and tune everything externally is a huge benefit I'm sure!
