Wild Game innovations 250 pound barrel feeder

Not sure if this go here or in equipment but since it directly relates to hunting I put it here

All in All it’s a good feeder, more than I expected for 80 bucks at academy.
Tools you will need

good fillips screwdriver (medium)

good flathead (medium)

small hammer

wireless drill and small bit (optional)

So box said set up in 15 minutes... that does not include assembly expect about an hour but nothing rocket science

the barrel is in two pieces and it uses push pin rivets to assemble I found that you may need to take your flathead and wallow the holes out a bit to get the rivets to go in then simply take your Flathead screwdriver put it on the head of the pin (They slotted the pins time fit one) and pop it with the hammer or palm of your hand and they will lock in nicely

the bottom funnel is the only scratch your head slap the engineer moment, these barrels are supposed to be put together out in the field and the directions pop in with using a wireless drill to make pilot holes... that being said I found the plastic to be soft enough that you can take a sharp pointed fillips give it a sharp rap with your palm and it will notch the plastic deep enough for the screws to bite nicely

total base to ground height is something like 7 feet add two more for the barrel so you will need to have some way to climb to refill I used all but one pole on each leg and was able to refill standing on the seat of my four wheeler

there is no base for the legs and if I had thought about it more I probably would have driven stakes or the bottom section into the ground to keep it from being knocked over by hogs the legs are simple slip together tubes but have no holes to allow you to lock them together

my advice is to buy it take it home drill holes in the tubes so you can pin them same goes with the barrel leg mounts then take it to the field

the timer is good quality but uses the small six volt square battery not the big one any aftermarket solar charger will work

word to wise the motor on this thing chunks corn HARD damn thing had me and my wife running for the hills when we tested it, it felt like we were on the receiving end of a full auto BB gun I am still trying to figure out what to do about that

game winner has something very similar for the same price but includes base and chains for the bottom unfortunately they where sold out
