WIKA Gauges

Thank you. FX does smart things for the airgun hobby, I like how fast they innovate. Radar, side-shot magazines, and digital gauges. In the process they are pushing the other manufacturers to innovate as well. The hobby changed tremendously in the past few years.

I own a FX, so I've already drank some of that koolaid, but I wouldn't give them full credit for being innovative with those products. Radar chronographs have existed in some form before FX announced theirs. The side shot magazine (and Impact dual tank adapter) were invented by the Side Shot guys based out of the US. It looks like FX has worked out an arrangement with Side Shot to manufacture these parts in house. The digital pressure gauge in the 27-28mm dial side was first done for the PCP market by Edgun, and those have been available to purchase for a little while now.

Yes, aware of that. I have an Edgun gauge and the issue with some is the battery replacement (need a syringe) and o-ring change requires some effort if not using the very specific purposed tool which is not available for sale. Would like to see Bluetooth built in for cell phone display/.logging in the new FX gauge.

Radar chronos currently are not designed to display over 680 fps max and albeit hey are capable of measuring higher speeds the paintball and nerf, etc. industry does not need that much speed so for airgun use they are severely limited. I would like to see the radar mounted on the gun itself with a small profile antenna instead of shooting over it.

The side-shoot was brought mainstream by Matt (seem to recall from his videos) and FX made a smart move in incorporating the design by whatever deal they were able to make with the company. Making such deals requires some give or take and FX seems to be quite aggressive in pursuing good innovations.

It has nothing to do with Kool Aid but by following the developments in the last several years they are the most willing to listen to their customers. Getting rid of AOA as the sole USA distributor, setting up a USA based factory representative/repair shop, hiring Ernest Rowe as the repair director makes them even more competitive.
