WIKA 300bar gage 20bar difference????

Hoping this hasn’t been discussed and beaten to death. I upgraded my regulator gage on my Dreamline to a Huma and love the resolution. So I thought I would do the same on the bottle adapter with the 300bar wika gage. When I installed the gage it’s reading 20bar lower than the factory black faced FX gage. I do not have anything to compare this to for accuracy other than my pump which is a Spiritech TW08. This matched both the factory tube and bottle adapter gages.

Is it possible I have 3 gages that are that far off or did I get a bad wika gage?

One that's 1% to 1.5 % (or better) of the dial for a reasonably accurate gauge.


Sounds like building a manifold to test three or four "gun" gauges at a time with a gauge that's 1% of the gauge face as a go-no go gauge might be an interesting experiment in checking gun gauges.
Gotta find a machine shop...

Despite some opinions, I like things to be accurate. Go ahead...build an engine using cheap unregulated / "inaccurate" measuring devices. See how long it runs !!!
When looking for a diameter of .0002", I'd hate to try to use a Harbor Freight micrometer !!
For 1.00" or under the micrometer that I use measures to five decimal places (.00001") .

P.s. - yeah, as said by someone, I use the gauge on my fill cylinder as check. Will have to look into that gauge to see what the manufactures claims its accuracy is.

Curious as to what micrometer you have that is measuring .00001” might need to get one for myself!

As for fill reliability I am contimplating building a unit to have a more accurate gage in line with my fill setup. Would be easy enough to screw a airgun gage onto a q/c to check them against no machine shop involved even!
