Why the L are the gun makers going to 300 bar fills

Manufacturers of guns that fill to 300bar can gloat over higher FPE and higher shot count as well. Like others have said just because you can fill that high does not mean you have to as many if not most guns shoot better/more consistent at lower than full pressure fills. Still it is a definite plus for those who shoot larger calibers or long distance and a win for most anyone else who buys one.

I only fill to 3000psi (except for all of my 1500psi fill MAC1 USFTs and 2000psi Benjamin Discos and Maximuses)no matter what brand gun no matter what the stated max fill ptessures are. I just simply fill more often. Don't want to end up with leaky guns thats all. Damn straight ESPECIALLY my FXs NEVER EVER see fills above 3000psi.

Do FXs leak a ton? Ever notice how nearly every post on here is about a plenum on an impact or a leak? I always laugh to myself about all the impact posts...

1) Mostly I think to improve shot count in regulated guns, especially at higher power levels.

2) Look at the factory regulator settings. Unless you're seeking the highest powers, regulators are more likely to be set from 110-130 BAR.

3) Any fill pressure above the regulator pressure will make the gun work properly. The higher the fill pressure, the more shots you can get per fill, as others have mentioned.

4) It's up to you to decide what pressure to fill at, based on your equipment. If you don't need extra power, readjust hammer spring down and/or lower regulator pressure (if adjustable), to get into your personalized comfort zone of power, shot count, and fill pressure.

My Edgun R5M .177 fills to 300bar. I never get there. What's nice is that I can fill it w/ as much as possible and leave the tank at home. This thing shoots down to 85bar (still on the reg) and this equates to 10+ magazines. It's pushing 20.5fpe and a head shot at a bunny @75yds dropped him in his tracks. Super accurate, nice gun. It would be better only if the mag couldn't be shot empty - that's my one grip about the edgun. That and they need a .30 repeater. Maybe the R7M...

My .30 Impact is pushing 110fpe and can make it thru 1 mag on the reg. I can imagine another 50 bar would help, but it's a thirsty bugger so I don't see 2 mags. It used to do 2 mags, but I've got the wick turned up for max performance and 1 mag is all it'll do.

I just got a pair of big CF tanks, but used to fill off SCUBA tanks and it worked fine at a mere 250bar.

As to mfgrs going to 300bar, bring it on I say. Mo better
