Why I’m a fanatic about index marks

I don't have silencers/moderators here up North, but I am a big fan of a airstipper. I have some fixed and some adjustable cones.

I know for sure the concentrically also the distance between muzzle to a cone plays the pattern, move around in same or similar way as you would index the liner. But indexing the liner moves the group, the air turbulence makes the pattern irregular in random.

Couldn’t find that perfect o ring like Gerry suggested, and the wave washers at ACE are too strong. I’d end up scratching up my muzzle and back of moderator to shreds and not even have the moderator halfway crush the washer, so I settled for like a 7/8” OD x /2” I D x 1/16” rubber flat washers that fit over the end of the shroud perfectly. I shall see if it changes anything to the worse or keeps the groupings the same.

I use that same washer on my Crown, seems to work well. ACE ran out, so I'm now using a fiber washer of the same dimensions as the rubber one for the Impact. So far, okay.

All fixed, tested it for consistency. As long as my index marks line up, POI doesn’t change
