It was working fine. I did have it next to a wall for a bit (where it sucks air). It continues to run, but just won't go over 225 bar now. It's just a few weeks old. I guess I'll check the seals.
What happens if it gets hot? Does it wreck it? -Nate
20 mins later: FIXED!!!!!
Remove your drain screws, polish the needle end with Emery cloth and make sure they seal. The Slightest Leak amplifies at higher pressures.
Keyman had the key. I removed my bleed screw, it has a point on it. I polished the end witht he cleaning cloth from my HELIX scope. I also got it gently into the hole and rubbed it around just a little. There was some corrosion on the shiny tip and threads of the screw. The compressor started working like new again.
Thanks Key Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just single handedly saved Airgun Channel. (Everytime I loose a compressor, I swear to quit airguns for good).
...compressors are a black hole money pit for me. The longest I got out of one was 8 months with my $1400 Recharge. I have gone through 5 compressors in 3 years, this would have been my 6th.
PRO TIP on 12v Portables:
OPEN the Bleed Valve and let the pressure go out of the systsem
BEFORE you Shut Off your compressor. This will save the piston from slamming back from the pressure when it finally stops...I guess your compressor will last alot longer.
