Why does my 12v Portable Compressor not go past 225bar? (SOLVED)

My Talon Tunes compressor won't go past 225 bar.

Anyone know why this may happen?

It's this one:

Remove your drain screws, polish the needle end with Emery cloth and make sure they seal. The Slightest Leak amplifies at higher pressures.

That worked. Thanks AGN!!! -Nate

It was working fine. I did have it next to a wall for a bit (where it sucks air). It continues to run, but just won't go over 225 bar now. It's just a few weeks old. I guess I'll check the seals.

What happens if it gets hot? Does it wreck it? -Nate

Keyman had the key. I removed my bleed screw, it has a point on it. I polished the end witht he cleaning cloth from my HELIX scope. I also got it gently into the hole and rubbed it around just a little. There was some corrosion on the shiny tip and threads of the screw. The compressor started working like new again.
Thanks Key Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just single handedly saved Airgun Channel. (Everytime I loose a compressor, I swear to quit airguns for good).

...compressors are a black hole money pit for me. The longest I got out of one was 8 months with my $1400 Recharge. I have gone through 5 compressors in 3 years, this would have been my 6th.

PRO TIP on 12v Portables:

OPEN the Bleed Valve and let the pressure go out of the systsem BEFORE you Shut Off your compressor. This will save the piston from slamming back from the pressure when it finally stops...I guess your compressor will last alot longer.

kaylaindy: "I did have it next to a wall for a bit". Also I personally would not place it on that blue carpet under the table as you showed in your video review. Needs to be on a hard surface so those feet can do their job and keep air circulating under the unit as well.

My granddaughter's friend used her laptop laying on her bed. No more laptop, no more bed, no more house.

I would also add to that PRO TIP to open that bled valve fast. It seems to help blow out moisture.

Glad you got it working.

Great pro tip. With that you don't set the auto shut off?

Correct, I do have auto shutoff set at 255 bar, just in case I walk away and forget,

but I ALWAYS shut it off before manualy, after bleeding the air for a second.

I open my bleed valve and let the moisture squirt out about evey 5 minutes while I pump up my gun. It takes about 10-15 minutes to top off my Impact. So I bleed the moisture at least 3 times while the compressors running while I fill my gun.

Plus, I have a giant mointure filter in addition to the one that came on the compressor. So it has 2 filters.

...oh yeah, I have it on tile now...away from the wall.
