Well I was using an Fpe calculator online and found that a little more fps or pellet weight makes Fpe increase a lot. Such as a 600 fps pellet gun with 7.9 grain pellets is about a quarter the Fpe of a 1200 fps pellet gun with 7.9 grain pellets... Shouldn't it just be double the fpe if its double the fps with the same pellet mass??????????? Can someone explain this please???

Energy = mass * velocity squared. The squaring part of the equation makes a huge difference in FPE if either velocity or mass are increased significantly.

From Physics 101, Force = 1/2 mass x velocity squared. Therefore, using a car crash as an example, the force of impact in an accident traveling 50 mph is 4 times that of traveling 25 mph...not twice as you would think due to squaring velocity. I shared this with my kids over and over to slow down.
