Why can't you use a car converter for the small compressors???

.Why can't you use these converters in a car/truck on a small compressors? Just wondering?? They do make them with more wattage also.

If the electrical power characteristics of your converter are in accordance with your compressor, I don't see why not. But I would plug it directly into the battery

You need to run the engine while drawing significant loads from the battery. That converter you listed is only good for 200 watt continuous. You would need 400+600 watts continuous and a cigarette plug won't carry that kind of load.

Be careful not all motors like the non-sine wave that most converts put out. Especially under heavy load. you could ruin the motor in the pump. If you are going to do this get a high quality sine wave converter with plenty of extra watts.

The one you are looking at will not come close.

It might depend on your specific vehicle/battery and compressor, but it's very likely you will be over-drawing from the your vehicle/battery. A typical built-in inverter is only 150W. You could end up damaging the compressor and/or your vehicle's electrical system.
