We can get standard rings for $9-15. But adjustable rings are $80 to $150. Why is that? I'm looking for a pair of adjustable rings that doesn't break the bank. Anyone know any adjustable rings for under $40?
Some experts (YouTube guys - may or may not be experts) say scope ring inserts are bad for the scope, cause a lot of torsion. I needed a customization MOA adjustment for my Talon SS. I just couldn't get enough elevations out of the scope and I was always maxing it out, which isn't all that good for the scope either. I went with FX adjustable mounts and it fixed all my issues and I am extremely happy with them. They were $75 or so at Utah Airguns. Probably the best purchase I have made for the gun.

On the contrary, inserts are designed to prevent torsion caused by misalignment of scope bases due to the occasional misalignment of scope base holes, especially on "sporterized" military actions. That was the original intent of the inserts. They are spherical in shape and float so to speak.
