Who likes snow for pest bird shooting?

Next week the dairy farm I shoot at, the one two hours from me, is forecasted to get between 6 and 11" of snow in a 24 hour period. Needless to say I will plan on shooting there the day after, which could get another 1 to 3" that day.

Wind is forecasted at 10 to 15mph but I will gladly deal with that for some volume shooting. Deep snow keeps the birds on the farmyard.

I love pesting and shooting anything as well rite we travel in bad weather and head out in nice weather , Hot , raining and severe weather lol , We are addicted to PCP gunning and nothing will stop us . and for me when I cant go I watch you guys go it seems to fill my void if you understand , with me it is a huge part of my life , I like fishing and hiking and building electronics and welding and mechanics , but I use my other skills to modify my personal arsenal lol . I love this time of year for pcp shooting as it is very windy where I live some days 40 plus MPH . I love to shoot in high winds , as all my Pcp guns soo well tuned and like an extension of me , that I love extreme winds and challenges to make things interesting .

I just can't take the cold. I used to shoot competitively and go to matches in the dead of winter. I don't know if age has made me dumber or smarter but I have concluded that if I ask myself if i'm having fun and the answer is "I'm not sure" I should stay home.

I'd like to improve my wind doping skills. 20 mph even if it's pretty consistent (and when does that happen ? ) Is way over my pay grade. That being said if you are killing ever bird you point the gun at what's the point. I like the challenge. I'm sure the rest of you do as well. I like being on the farms. Watching the birds and everything else that goes on. The only thing I don't like is not making clean kills which is part of it too

Bob thanks for your answers to my questions . John H

That's the best time for us here in Sw Indiana . The birds stay at the farms a lot longer and we can just about shoot all day. If it's nice out its slim pickers as they fly way off and dont land as much.

Last Sunday we went squirrel hunting early then stopped at a farm on the way home. We shot a few sparrows and starlings plus I also shot a couple pigeons.

Just waiting for it to snow here so it gets better.

Great times!
