Who all goes to the trouble of baiting chipmunks?

Like I do?

Peanuts mixed with peanut butter ... I think the smell of the peanut butter is stronger than just peanuts, and unlike when they eat the nuts and move around, they sit perfectly still while they lick the pb.

Here's my bait set up (the white cloths are there for pass-throughs, and are piled thick. They will catch a full-on hit without a problem.

Unfortunately ,that's illegal where I live . Chippers are protected & can only be removed if nuisance ( like crows, when are they not nuisances?);). And baiting is a no no also.

I feed the birds and we have three clans of chipmunks that battle over the seeds. And fight and chase each other. The clan from my shed my neighbors shed and ones that come from under the fence. I spend all summer watching them work and gather seeds. I imaging a giant cave filled with seeds under my shed. They are more fun to watch than anything on TV these days.
