Which Yong Heng

Brand new to the air gun world, purchased a 22 and 25 pcp from a friend, have a scuba tank, refills not real handy. From lurking on here appears Yong Heng compressor is my low cost option for refill. But confused in differences between, Simple, hardcover etc. units. I do not plan on shooting a bunch, less than 100 shots a month. I can watch pump and go slow. Will the simple unit do the job or should I spend more for a upgrade or ???? Thanks

Do not get the least expensive "Simple" version it does not have the water separator on it. The "Hardcover" is the least expensive of the units that werq well. As Eaglebeak says. Also notice there are 110v and 220v units so pick what you need. I got the Set pressure model most expensive but it will turn off at the pressure I specify. That way I do not have to keep replacing burst discs, which are cheap, if I go past near 4200psi. I have brain damage and space sometimes.

It would be good to pick up one of the gold filters also to make sure the air output stays dry.

But if you are faithful in purging the compressor every five minutes and changing out the tiny Yong Heng filter every twenty you can probly get by for awhile without it. Some have for extended amounts of time. Probly depends on the humidity you are using the compressor in. You can set the Yong Heng filters out to dry and reuse it next time until they get ugly.

Set things up with the water bucket at the same height as the compressor.

Your filters higher than your compressor and your tank or guns higher than your filters.

A decent 110 outlet or strip that will take the load will keep you from forgetting to turn the pump on and overheating your compressor repeatedly like I did.

I use 2.5 gallons instead of the 5 of water that is suggested and then add a half gallon jug of ice to it so it will run for twenty minutes, without getting too warm, when filling all of my tanks and guns.
