I am guessing then off 800 fps you are shooting in the 20 FPE range. Under 50 yards you should be pretty good for squirrels. The Uragan Compact in 22 can go to 30 FPE if adjusted right. The RTI PPC is 35-40 FPE, if you push it.

@Emu What would you say the minimum foot pounds would be for 75 yards in .22?

@my87csx481 I took the numbers from H & N with the 21 something grain Barracuda. Please see screenshots below. I think half of it depends on what you are shooting. A pigeon at 75 yards with 30 FPE at the muzzle is plenty of energy in the right conditions, but you do get drop.

For sure the standard Uragan in 22 can do 75 yards. Some guys here are talking about it doing 200 yards with slugs. With that beast I think you’ll be happy power wise. Or go with a Taipan Standard or Long which can easily meet your expectations.
