Tuning Which slug power kit for the M3 22cal sniper

The pin probe on the FX unit is very thin and has been known to bend which can cause chambering/jamming problems. I recently found that they can leak around the pin also.
I am not sure if the Huma unit is any better or not as it is built the in the same way.
I tried the FX Slug Power Kit on my MK1, already had an enlarged port on my barrel and probe and other power mods. The pin probe did not increase my velocity. But it did cause jamming problems.
So, I just put the original modded probe back in.
If you have done power mods and your probe is modified and properly aligned you may not see too much of a difference in velocity.
If your gun is bone stock and adjusted properly you will see an increase in velocity.

If I were to do this again I would probly order one of the NSA housings and probes as they look much stronger and, because of the way they are built, they are never going to leak. But looks like they are both unavailable at the moment.

I agree with bio. I had both the FX SPK and the Nielsen pin probe to test against my already moded TP and probe. I saw no appreciable increase in FPS over my setup. The Nielsen was substantially beefier than the FX. There is a downside to the pin as well, you loose pellet depth to the leed depending on how deep the skirt is. Pin probes don't always play fairly with all slugs either. Magazine style, slug length, base and shape all play a part in loading them straight and smoothly, or not. FX's standard barrel style probes which mates with the outside circumference of most projectiles, will seat each variety to exactly the same position regardless of base style. Boattails might be the only exception. My pin probes have been sold.

I have the same experience. Regular probes are much better than pin probes. You may need to port them though.

I have 3 that I'm working on for my MKII in .177, .22 and .30
.30 is done, .22 I polished tonight after the photo and the .177 I will do tomorrow.
