Which gun..hw35 ,tx200 or hw97...

HW77K

It will do anything.

Get the 97 if you never intend to use open sights.

The Weihrauchs have less potential issues than the TX200, and don't have the annoying beartrap ratchet on the side. The Weihrauchs also have better powerplant dimensions, a shorter stroke, and they tend to be nicer shooting at normal power levels because of it.

I recently bought both a HW97 Black Line STL and a TX200 in walnut. Both are great but I find myself shooting the HW97 way more. The finish of the TX200 is outstanding but the HW feels more quality if that make sense. Accuracy seems to be on par with each other, I do find both to have slightly different holds required to best accuracy. I shoot the HW97 much better off hand and TX better margainly off bench. Won't sell either and can't go wrong with either. The price and availability of the hw97 from Krale makes it really hard to beat.

I love my HW97. Mine currently has an ARH sub 12 fpe spring/guide in it and is shooting super smoothly and accurately at around 11 fpe.

I owned an HW35 for 40 years and never warmed up to it. It never came close to my HW97's accuracy.

I agree with Thumper about considering the HW77. I have recently begun really enjoying shooting indoor 10m and if I were looking today to buy one gun I thought could do it all it would be an HW77. In addition to sharing the benefits of the HW97 the HW77 can be fitted with a really nice aperture sight and, with a softer spring, make a fine 10m gun.

It depends on what your'e going to use them for. The HW35 is their elite, light weight hunting gun, they usually come with swivel mounts for a strap. Whereas the HW97 and TX 200 are more benchrest guns. If you start with the HW35, get a strap for it. The HW35 will push you towards free hand shooting and using the strap as a shooting aid, you need to be comfortable with that.

I started with an HW30, then progressed to an HW95 and finally an HW100. In retrospect, I feel 8 pounds is the sweet spot and I prefer carbines. My wife and daughter don't like the weight or cocking effort of the HW95, although I do. They love the HW30. I found the HW100 a bit heavy, so I bought a titanium air cylinder from HW100tuning in England, which reduces weight about 11 ounces. It made a world of difference in handling. I put straps on the HW95 and HW100.

So the HW30 is for family and guests. The HW95 is my survival gun. The HW100 is for ... whatever. I love them all.

I have an HW35

I have had two.

Motorhead has my first one.

You can easily shoot WFTF FT with the HW35 and do very well.

I have had my TX200 for five years shooting HFT.

I have had no problems loading and at 75 I should.

The barrel latch on the TX vs the HW77/97 is not very secure.

Trust me.

The HW35 was first made after WWII and is still in production.

The rest of the HW rifles were much later and in fact, the barrel cockers are all based on the HW35.

Dr. Beeman used the HW35 short throw action as the basis for the R1 (HW80 came later), R10, R8, R7, etc.
