I've been sporting a Shoebox (an original, not just by name) for over 10 years with enough spare parts to last me a long time.
Filters inflow from shop compressor.
High-pressure moisture filter outflow.
Added small radiator to the rear where the fan motor for cooling it, works well (SoCal hot weather), with a small aquarium pump feeding the iced water.
Installed a 15-cog motor gear instead of the original 13-cog (too fast with the 21-cog like the F-10), slightly faster speed, but not by much.
Average Great White top off times are around 1 hour from 3,800 to 4,300PSI. Cylinder temp in 95° weather, 20% humidity averages around 105°.
Love the ease of rebuilding/sealing these little critters.

I fill with a Shoebox Max that is over 11 years old, and it just works great with no signs of slowing down (pun intended). It is slow, but who cares - since it is a very robust "set it and forget it" compressor, it does it's thing filling tanks (even two at at a time with a splitter) while I do other things like chores or watching sports. I don't leave home while it runs, but leave it unattended until its done - sometimes until long after its done. An hour fill time is nothing in that context . . .

It is so quiet that it runs in my basement right below bedrooms without disturbing anyone. I fully filter the air before it enters the unit, with nothing after it other than a tiny cigarette output filter to catch any lube that gets through it. I have plenty of spare parts, lube it with Krytox for longevity of the o-rings, and even bought a working like-new spare to have for backup duty in the unlikely event of a total failure of this unit. It should be all I ever need for decades of more shooting.

My 4+ year old YH fills my 45 minute bottle and a less than 1 year old GX CS2 fills guns and is my portable source of air. With a step down converter I can run the CS2 off one of my many Milwaukee 18V tool batteries. I put a new piston and rod in my YH this year for about $20. Bottle fills are back down to the time it took when the compressor was new. If I can get multiple years from $20 rebuilds I may use the YH as long as the Lord keeps me here. It's noisy but reasonably fast to fill the bottle (less than half an hour) and has been pretty much trouble free.
