Other Which 30 cal

I have a Challenger Pro 30 and I usually prefer shooting my Gauntlet 30. Even though the AEA has a wider range of adjustment.

The long barrel 30 is going to be pretty crazy shooting anything other than very heavy slugs unless you turn that thing down a lot.

The Guantlet 30 has perfect power for shooting 65 grain slugs.
Did you have to do much work to your gauntlet or you feel it was ready to go out of the box? Wanting a gauntlet 30 myself

I love my gauntlet. Out the box it is a great gun. With the modifications Its even better and I didn't even change the trigger. Right now I have my reg set to 2900 psi and I'm shooting the 56gr griffin at 1000 fps with a high of 1006 fps. If I switch to the 85gr bt they go at 860 fps at 140 fpe. With the 56gr I get over 40 shots.

mainevent777 has a really nice setup

But I think the most important modification on the G30 is a good barrel band. This greatly improves consistency in point of impact.

And you'll probably want a moderator unless volume is not an issue. I use the Donny "FX" small and cheap one on mine and it works surprisingly well.

You'll be rather impressed out of the box. The trigger has a ton of creep but its actually nice once you get used to it.

Here's an option not in your list. Epic One .30 - 700mm LW unchoked barrel. Easy to adjust the regulater and hammer spring - due to a great balanced valve system. Bullpup so not as stretched out as a normal rifle but "managable" out hunting but not thick brush (at least for me). Here's a pic of mine with the Falx high flow on it.

That’s real easy in the eyes too 😍

Like I mentioned above you can get a used FX for the same or less than an AEA. I dont shoot matches either, but I brought that up since you will never ever ever see any AEA on the podium. Please post a video of your accuracy results, I dont think you will be anywhere close to an FX. I dont mind being wrong but so far its just your opinion vs mine, and I have experience with both brands.

I would never insist anyone needs to buy an FX over xyz, you can get a proven AF for less than an AEA. Those rifles have been taking down big game for decades and even the AEA cant keep up with their fpe numbers. And I will not stop posting my opinion, I wouldnt say that to you. IF you cant handle a differing opinion like an adult this might not be the forum for you.
“No worries on the FX—but it’s not sending 200-grain slugs 230 yards and holding target. My .357 AEA Challenger? Tuned, tested, and proven in the field. This rig isn’t just whispering power—it’s dropping heavyweight slugs with precision most match guns wouldn’t dare claim. I built it for harvests, not hashtags. If accuracy is the argument, I’ve got real groups and field footage ready to back it. Benchrest results are cool—I’ll take clean knockdowns and repeatable hits any day.”

Doesn’t matter the brand you can’t beat a gun that has been properly tuned and given a heavy dose of TLC… I feel the same way about my 250z as you feel about your AEA. I’ve gone over every inch of that thing and went through thousands of slugs in 3 months make it perfect. It’s not a heavy slug shooter but on small game out to 125-150y it will go against guns that cost 3 or 4 times as much.

Yea I'm not giving up that much power for a smidgen of better accuracy and $1000 more in price.

Do you have one? I have one in my cart and nervous about pulling the trigger on it because I don't see a lot of people talking about them
Hopefully the fear won. Haven’t read much good about them and for the 1k mark you can get a waaaay better gun in the slightly used market. Airguns of Arizona just sold an m3 for 1350. Wildcats or mavericks used should be about the price of a karma and im convinced are a better platform. Almost sold my wildcat bt to get an eq. Sooo glad I didn’t. The used market is falling.

It won and I got a Kalibrgun Snipe II in 30 Cal and I absolutely love it. Had it for a few weeks now and is a great plinker and great hunter (for the most part lol. It is long and a bit front heavy. But manageable)

Yeah I think your opinion on the EQ is only informed by a couple of threads here where people have complained about a bunch of issues. You act like it’s rare for a new gun to have a couple issues with the first production run…I remember seeing loads of “fx needs to stop making new guns and fix problems with their other guns…” in reference to the M4 after the Leopard is announced.

But for $950 it beats the s*** out of a stock fx anything*…. Only if you’re looking for a slug shooter. I have zero mods to the gun and I’m shooting 52gr javelins at 930 for 99.9FPE and 30+ a fill… on the exact same tune I got 805-810fps out of the 75gr Griffin boattails. I’m not even tuned for them that was just messing around. That’s 109fpe oh and the big boattails FIT IN THE MAGAZINE!

Unless you get one that has already been tuned your FX’s aren’t doing any of that. You’re gonna have to pump more money into the gun to do it…and frankly I wouldn’t want to hunt with one unless I was on tripods all the time. It takes .001 seconds to find pages of threads from people complaining about POI changes for even looking at an fx barrel wrong.

Karma has a solid steel barrel.. it already has ridden shotgun in the car with 0 issues..70cc plenum and 4500psi fill. That’s fresh out of the box. How many of your Fx’s can boast that?

I get you have a preference and that’s fine. My goal here isn’t to badmouth FX, I would really like to own one eventually… just think it’s silly to include them in any convo about “bang for your buck,” even used they aren’t cheap. Not to mention everyone selling a used FX acts like it’s a solid piece if gold blessed by Justin from UtahAirguns himself. Half the guns being listed for $1300-$2000 should be at $500 less. Additionally, you spend a lot of time talking about a karma gun that I’m 90% sure you’ve haven’t shot or even seen shot in person.

So basically give it a rest. If you’re trying to get an FX sponsorship or something then go comment on the Utah Airguns videos. And stop pretending you know about the EQ which is brand new cuz you read 2 threads here. I had been scouring the internet for a couple months, so the forums, YouTube, insta all that stuff. I even email pj Clarke at DonnyFL and the amount of complaints is actually quite small. Which by the way Karma is DonnyFL. AEA builds it to DonnyFl specs and design. Considering their reputation any issues will probably get sorted out.

👏👏👏. For that. A+ on the rant. 👍
If you really want to own an fx sometime I have a wildcat bottle I’d probably sell you.

Oh and just fyi I have been very critical of FX many times. Got a week vacay I think pretty much for not being nice about their YouTubers.
