Where is everybody buying their carbon fiber tubes?

I’m trying to find a 14mm IDx 20mm ODx 500mm long glossy carbon fiber tube to make a tension system for my dreamline with 500mm stx barrel.
Where is everyone finding their tubes?
I’ve looked on eBay and Amazon, and although Amazon has them, they’re shipped from China with a due date of a month! There has to be a better option.

McMaster-Carr carries a variety of sizes
But you would need to convert from metric as they are all specified in inches
Not too difficult considering they are using decimals versus fractions

Make sure to wear a mask if you’re cutting the tubes down. Cf dust is nasty stuff.

How tight is the fit of the tube to the barrel? Do I need to measure ny barrel OD with a micrometer then try to order the tightest fit, or just get close?

Close is about all you can hope for on account of tolerances. Most carbon fiber tubing will have fairly broad tolerances.

If it’s too tight, make a flap sander with a fiberglass arrow shaft or something similar to open up the ID. As mentioned, wear good breathing protection so you don’t breathe in the fibers.

If loose, there are bearing compounds suited for gaps up to 0.010” (e.g. Loctite 638) or an epoxy for larger gaps.
