I currently keep mine in their cases but have decided to go the gun rack route for easier access.
Below, is the rack I have decided on.

How do you store your guns?
I think that you have made a good choice.
Now also get some silicone-treated gun socks to keep your guns cleaner when in storage, and to prevent dings when getting things in and out of the rack. I find that the ones which are marked 6" in width fit more smoothly especially for guns with a pistol-type grip. Most I think are marked 4-4.5" in width, and can be a bit of a pain to put on or take off. Also, as opposed to the stock photo you have shown, I find that the rifles fit better in these Winchester racks with their scopes facing outward. So they actually take up just a bit more floor space, but are still the most efficient racks for me.

Hmm, perhaps building a glass case around it may work for convenience?

I like testing for POI shifts so I purposely lean all my gun's barrels against the wall. Just kidding. I seriously need to get a rack like what the OP posted because my collection has grown and my airguns are all over the place.
