Where are FX Maverick Compact owners in .177 caliber?

Months ago and before I bought my Maverick Compact, I always looked for reviews concerning this pcp but I could only find a few here and there. My experience with this lil pup has been nothing but simply marvelous and that's without making or having to make any adjustments whatsoever! Whether target shooting or taking out my nut raiding squirrels, this lil pup has proven itself to be nothing but a winner. Out of the box and without doing anything to it, I have no regrets for not buying an Impact in the same caliber. JMHBHO

Maybe you could educate me a bit as I never thought about the Maverick, especially the Compact version, as an optimal platform for small caliber pellets (over, say, the Dreamline/DreamTact).

To me (and maybe this is where my logic falls apart), the Mav's kind of have 2 claims to fame:
1) Dual regulators (which to me and my personal type of shooting, may be more complexity than is truly needed); and
2) Big plenum.

Disregarding the 2 regulators, the big plenum is what stands out on the gun to me. And to my knowledge this is most useful with larger, heavier projectiles in long barrels. Big squirt of air available to keep pushing that pellet (or slug, if that's your thing) faster and faster down a long barrel.

I say it a lot but once again to me, it seems like the benefit of the Maverick (big plenum) is not well used in a configuration of the gun with a short barrel and a small diameter, light weight pellet.

Don't get me wrong - I absolutely love the Maverick, and have Sniper versions in both .22 and .30 cal. And both have been wonderfully accurate out to the 100 yards I have shot them (I especially like that the Mav Sniper has plenty of power to easily get the muzzle velocity I want out of a heavier, 25.4 grain pellet).

Maybe in the end the Maverick is just a good overall gun, and even though you may not be using its designed-in benefits 'to the max' in a small caliber/short version, it is still a convenient and accurate platform for your use.

When I bought my first Maverick I was looking for a slug gun. That was the marketing pitch for the Maverick. Designed to shoot heavier slugs.
All the videos and forum talk seemed centered around the ability to shoot heavier projectiles.
Maybe that is why you see so little about the gun in 177.
My favorite gun is my Maverick 25 compact. I cannot speak highly enough of the little gun. Accuracy, consistency, high shot count and reliability. It is also very handy as a truck gun.
I just ditched the big 6x24x50 Scope and put a US Optics compact scope on it. I gave up some field of view but dropped some weight and bulk off the gun making it a perfect walk around hunting gun for me.
Glad the OP is as happy with his Mav Compact as I am with mine.
