Where .22lr Ammo comes from

The .22lr shortage is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Someone says 'I think there's going to be a shortage of .22lr so I'll buy all that I see on the shelf." This creates a sense that the shortage is real because, indeed, there's now none on the shelf. The next person who comes in looking for some sees that it's all gone and thinks "There must be a shortage or .22lr. I'll buy all I can the next time that I see it available." Sure enough that guy clears the shelf at the next store he goes to. This continues on and on until there is in fact a shortage even though there's no reason for it. It gets to the point that EVERYONE is hoarding .22lr ammo. The manufacturers CAN NOT fill the level of demand and they know that without a reason for it, the shortage could disappear literally overnight if everyone simply purchased what they needed rather than buying as much as they can when its available.

Wow! That was a lot of lead. I think I have one of those blocks. Good thing is I bought it by the brick years ago at $8.99 per brick. Bad thing is I'm afraid to shoot it. I guess I'm one of those hoarders. 😳 Glad I found a substitute in Pcp guns. Maybe I should sell some of my .22 guns and ammo. I was/am a .22lr fanatic. It all started when my parents gave me my great grandfathers .22 when I was 12.
Really enjoyed the video ztirffritz. Thanks for sharing.

"Broberts1"
"T3PRanch"From the amount of lead consumed in one day at that plant I only have one pertinent question. WHERE is all that ammo going because I can never find ANY! :(

Must be coming to LA. That stuff is overflowing on the shelves down here.

Must be a local lack of demand in LA because in Louisiana CCI 22 ammo is unobtanium. What I don't get is why we cant get much ammo from overseas.
