When did you turn the grease pot for the first time ?

Just curious if you guys just stuck to factory recommendations or you waited until dead head time went up ? When you turned it for the first time did it grease too much or too little? I am at just over 5 hrs. I checked just before todays half hour run and dead head was still around 27-28 seconds. I have not added any additional grease yet.

Been so long i don't remember. I think at 10 hrs

Three hours. That's when I checked to see if there was an air bubble in the grease. I didn't notice any change in performance so I assume that the compressor was not over greased.

When I first got my CS4 I turned the grease knob every 4-6 hours, as recommended in the initial blogs
I since have read that 6 hours is much too often and have backed off to every 10-12 hours
The machine currently has 70.9hours on it and has been (fingers crossed) trouble free.
At 70 hrs I cleaned out the burst disc area even though the dead head test was right on spec.

Over this time period I have filled 4 bottles (smallest 60 minute) from empty and now top them up as needed only when the relative humidity is low
I also fill guns.

I use the bottles when the RH is high and fill/refill when the RH is low

That's my story and I'm stickin to it

I believe it moves down the cylinder wall and deposits under the piston..
