What's wrong with this Royale?- chrono results

A few weeks ago i have bought a Royale in Sweden and due of regal restrictions the gun was shooting at 10j. I bought separately a HP kit wich includes a power adjuster with the news transfer ports diameters and a new valve support (according to Hurricane that should give me 30+fpe).
After install the new power adjuster, the gun was shooting at 740fps with 18.1 and a ES of 25fps, anyways, i still need to install the valve support so i will not complain about the low velocities and high ES until see the results with it installed.
The thing is that now, suddenly i saw some weird results on paper so i have checked again the velocities.

10 Shots:

859
820
827
738
813
843
726
868
825
828

Low 726
High 868
ES 142

My gun was shoting at an average of 740fps and now it's shooting waay higher with an ES of 142fps?
At first i thought on a broken o'ring, but how can you explain the insrease on the velocities with a broken o-ring? Maybe an issue with the regulator? (it's adjusted at 140bar)

Mentallist, can you hear a difference in the shot sound mainly around the breech area? You might drape some tissue paper over the breech where you load a pellet, fire the gun and see if the tissue paper stays put or if it jumps from leaking air, if so the breech O-ring is bad which can give you erratic velocities. My 400's regulator is set for 145bar but it is a factory FAC gun.

It looks like the results are being affected by just two of the shots. Take them out and it looks better.

The question then becomes, what causes two random low power shots.

Is there any chance the power adjuster is loose or is being accidentally knocked?

A new reg sometimes needs time to settle down but I haven't had one of my new guns produce results like that.

The only time I saw random low power shots like that was when the valve stem on my Cricket started to break. Before it snapped, it started by not striking properly on random shots and it became progressively worse. That seems unlikely on a new gun though.

My advice is, unless you know what you are doing and have the confidence to strip it down to see what the problem is, I would send it to a pro to fix. If the problem is something I could fix myself (like a simple part replacement), it is usually obvious (because a broken part falls out). I stay away from fixing anything around the air supply and valve.

Maybe test it a few more times to check that the problem keeps repeating.

The question should be the exactly the oposite one i think. I mean, the gun was shooting at 740fps, and now suddenly it's at 800+fps. I would me very happy if it was consistent at those velocities because i'm looking for 900fps, bit it isn't.
The gun has about 1500 shots thought it, so it should be settle down.
I did what you told me, jking, the paper just jump a little bit.
It's possible to have an o'ring in the barrel bited, and keep getting 25fps of ES? Because maybe the o'ring was allways bited, and now it's just moving more a giving me some crazy results (but getting the 800+ fps)

I think you have something going on with the customizations that you have had done (or have done yourself) to the rifle. In your other post, you talk about missing parts and bottle valve issues. It really sounds to me like you are going to have to send the bottle in for repair/replacement. The guys at the shop should have the right tools to get the job done properly and safely. Remember, you're dealing with high pressures and can very easily get injured.

If it was my choise, belive me that i would have already send it. I'm faaar away from where i bought it and there is no chance to send it back to repair, that would cost me like $700 just to send it, and where i live there are no retailers :/
b.t.w the bottle just fixed when i filled the rifle with the bottle attached, the valve opened and then when i tried to reintall it, it opened just fine

The drawings says the internal o'ring for .22 is 5.28x1,78mm PUR70. Is that right?
i'm a little confused because the .177 and .25 says nbr70, so why in .22 should be different?

I'm using 90 Durometer Buna's in mine. They are a little stiffer but they stay put in the groove. I had a lot of trouble out of the 70's leaking and even blowing out. Since I tried the 90's not a problem one. It might be worth a shot. Warning, they are a pain to replace but if you'll get a 3/16 wooden dowel rod to insert down the barrel to hold back up against the O-ring while your trying to work it into the grooves that will help.

"Menttaliist"So what do you recomend me? Maybe try first with some nbr90 5.28x1.78? You are talking about E1, am i right?

It's a very simple thing that can cause lots of problems so yes the 5.28X1.78 . Either 70 or 90 duro. The 90 is the one that's working well for me though.

Ok, thanks. I will try first with the nbr70, just because the other calibres uses those ones. If they doesn't work, i will try the 90. Thanks
