What’s the max power that can be achieved in a DreamTac?

I was wondering what you guys think is the max power one can achieve out of a dreamtac? I’m getting a .22 600mm barrel in and I was wondering what kind of max power it could make.

I ordered an MP mold in 5.52mm that’s supposed to drop at 35 grains and I was wondering if I can shoot it in the dreamtac or only in my Condor. Don’t know if it’s a fools errand to try getting 35 grains up to speed or not in this limited platform. I know an Impact or a Maverick could do it.

I have a .177 cal compact. In stock form, the best I can get out of it is 18 fpe. I just installed a dual TP to see if that helps. One thing is clear, it needs a stronger hammer spring because when I turn up the reg, the velocity drops.

my 22 with 15.89 i can get 31 FPE with 500mm barrel my 320mm barrel i was getting around 26 FPE . MY 320mm like hades only my 500mm barrel prefers air arms 16 grain

This is what my .30 cal DreamTac is producing, according to the PA calculator. Tuned it per Steve's instructions on an AEAC video.

You should be able to get 850-880 fps out of the 35 gr without too much difficulty. A power plenum and slug probe would make this even easier. I hope this helps. Good shooting.

I was told by a tuner that I trust that I could probably make 90 fpe in a dream line if I went all out on it. I guess we will see. I haven’t gotten my .22 in yet and the MP molds shipped out yesterday. The wait begins …

90fpe in .22? Doubtful, I have that mold and it takes some serious HP to drive them

Yeah, that was more than I thought it would do but he seemed optimistic. I kind of doubted 90 fpe just because I know as caliber goes down it’s harder to drive a smaller surface area than a larger one. Just because you can hit a certain fpe in a larger caliber doesn’t mean you can hit that in a smaller one with the same amount of air behind it.

What are your reg and other settings and mods that you have used to get this kind of energy from your DLs. Seems rather hard to believe from this platform.

@ancientsword: the 22 Dreamline comes with the 7gram light hammer and you will need the medium hammer to use reg up to 150 bars which you need for slugs. Call fx and order both heavy and medium hammers.

the sweet spot for the .25 380mm barrel is right around 800FPS even with the JSB heavy pellets.

In 30 caliber. Yes. In the most extreme case (without custom valve) you might be able to get somewhere just north of 70fpe in 22. Realistically with a 600 mm Barrel using a plenum, a hammer weight, ported barrel, and probe... I would expect to see somewhere around 60fpe give or take in 22 cal.

With custom balanced valve you may be able to approach 90fpe in 22cal

Because I have a couple of them … sold both of my impacts last year.
