I looked at the catalog. The first thing I noticed was the Zephyr model has turrets that are marked: "1click 1/4 MOA 100yd"
If it's a 1/4 MOA (not a 1/4"), why put "100yd" on the turret? It's meaningless as related to MOA. An MOA is an angle, not a side of a triangle. Little things like that make me suspicious if they got all the functional details right. I'm seeing similar issues on a number of new scope brand/models. Regardless of whether the scope meets my other requirements, I decided to just avoid them when I see even these minor design issues.
For my use, the difference between 1/4" at 100yd and 1/4 MOA is significant enough that they need to get it right.

In my books it doesn't make much of a difference.
One MOA, 1⁄60 of that, measures 1.047 inches. While 1 MOA at 100 yards equals 1.047 inches
Therefore 1/4 MOA or 1/4" at 100 yards means little difference to me.

If an almost 5% error is OK with you, then it won't matter if you mix up 1/4" in 100yd turrets with 1/4 MOA turrets.
But why do the turrets even say "1/4 MOA 100yd"? If the clicks are 1/4 MOA, then they are 1/4 MOA at 10yds, 25yds, 100yds, 100m or any other distance. All they need to say is "1/4 MOA". The "100yd" adds nothing to the information, it just causes doubt when I look at their product.
They would be better off using the space to show turret direction as that is actually useful information. And that's what they did on their LYNX model.

There is a lot of competition in the scope market these days. If a new company wants to compete in the market, it would benefit them to get the details consistently right. There are already plenty of new scopes out there with screwed up information or minor design flaws.

Do agree with alot you say, have come across more than one time that the turrets are not marked with with respect to direction orientation. I wish I could say that 5% in shooting 100 yards would make a difference but truth be told I doubt these old eyes could even identify 5% of an inch on the measuring tape held at arm distance, LOL. Thanks for helping to clarify things, I know you know your scopes, he'll I'm still trying to convert to mrad reticles/turrets and get my head wrapped around all this.
