Put a forward mounted cocking lever on it and you'd actually have something new to discuss! Just MHO but with that, the reliability, trigger, accuracy and ease of repair be a hard gun to beat?

Most made in Ukraine .22 models. I say most because there was a short time, years go, in which the .22 Mutant (predecessor to the Veteran) had some other barrels installed that were junk!
Doesn’t it seems very strange that now the Veterans are assembled in the Czech Republic (CZ) but do not have CZ barrels being installed. Why?

I've heard that CZ couldn't keep up with production of the new guns so they have been sourcing LW barrel's instead...
Think it also has something to do with not being able to get .22 longs here lately too!

I'm waiting for a Taipan with a forward cocking lever and a adjustable regulator from the outside... maybe for 2035 I'll get my dream gun.

I have a .22 taipan veteran that I purchased here in the classifieds. I was disappointed to find out it was not a CZ barrel. However, this LW has not let me down, I gave it a good cleaning and it has been very accurate and consistent out to 100 yards. I can’t remember ever having a flier with it. Hit the 1 inch spinner at 100 yards several times in a row.
